Tasting Notes

Niepoort Nat Cool Dourado Branco is a unique, orange-style natural white wine made in Portugal. It is created by the famous winemaker Dirk Niepoort as part of his Nat Cool project. This movement focuses on making light, fun, and easy-to-drink natural wines with low intervention.

Unlike regular white wines, this wine is made using skin maceration. This means the juice stays in contact with the grape skins during fermentation, giving it a deep colour and more structure. It is fermented in open stone tanks called lagares and then aged for one year in cement tanks. The grapes grow in schist soils, which adds a clean, mineral taste.
