Tasting Notes
Domaine Jean Collet et Fils is a highly respected, family-owned winery located in the heart of Chablis, Burgundy. The family’s viticultural roots in the region date back to 1792, though the modern estate was officially founded by Jean Collet in 1952. Jean was a true pioneer in the region, becoming one of the first in Chablis to independently bottle his own wine (starting with the 1954 vintage) and aggressively export it internationally to markets like the US and UK.
Under Romain Collet’s guidance, the estate practices sustainable viticulture, with a massive push toward organic farming. A large portion of their 40 hectares is either certified organic or in official conversion. Their old-vine parcel known as “Les Truffières” has been farmed strictly organically since 1999.
