Tasting Notes
Dolin Vermouth Rouge is a benchmark French sweet vermouth produced in the Alpine hills of Chambéry. Created by Joseph Chavasse in 1821, it is still crafted using an unchanged secret recipe. It macerates over 30 to 50 local Alpine plants, roots, and spices in a base wine made from Ugni Blanc grapes. Unlike heavy, intensely sweet Italian styles, Dolin Rouge stands out for its light, fresh, and drier profile. The distinctive coppery-red colour comes naturally from the infused botanicals and caramelized sugar rather than a red wine base.
