Aalborg Taffel Akvavit, colloquially known in Denmark as “Rød Aalborg” (Red Aalborg) due to its iconic red-and-white label, is the archetype of traditional Danish caraway spirits. Introduced in 1846 by distiller Isidor Henius, it remains Denmark’s most popular spirit and the global benchmark for the “Taffel” (table) style of unaged aquavit.
